Prophetic Words for October, 2005

I saw old oil wells being uncapped in Texas. There were families who had prospered in the 1970's from their oil revenues. They had been very generous and faithful to support local ministries.

These families had enjoyed the riches like presents under a Christmas tree. "Everyday was like Christmas." I could hear them saying.

They could buy anything they ever wanted because they had poked a hole in the ground and the oil looked like it would flow forever. The money looked like it would never end. It was beyond anything they had ever dreamed.

Later, I saw them repenting for having wasted all that income. They were saying "Lord, we gave to your church, too."

"Were'nt you looking out for us?" "Did we do something wrong?"

I saw in this vision, the abuses that came from all the generosity these oil people showered on the churches. The preachers prospered along with the givers. The prosperity message was alive and being fueled by the euphoria of blessings. The oil families had been blessing them from the bottom up. Afterall, they were family, too.

Nobody wanted to hear the prosperity message when the oil stopped. The preachers had lost heart in the message when the givers in their church had lost their blessings. The prosperity message was dead. It now seemed full of presumption and ambition.

I saw the hearts of many of the oil people. They were truly givers. And, there were also those who "gave" solely to "get more". The oil was a form of "energy" that was fueling the natural economy and had become a spiritual fuel as well.

I believe the Lord is going to show his grace to you again in the area of the oil fields. He is going to visit you one more time with this outpouring of energy and income.

This time, you will not be like children unwrapping Christmas presents everyday. I saw you as mature women and men. This time you will get it right. You will enjoy blessing and abundance once again.

Your generosity will be alive again. But, now you will have eyes as well as hands to give. You will have a sincere wisdom and discernment that is sent straight from the Holy Spirit.

You have been refined in the fire of adversity. You can now be trusted with riches for you have a maturity that has been hard won by experience. Now you know exactly what happens when you go from the "have" to the "have nots". You have seen how the system takes away all the earthly belongings...and life still goes on.

You will lift up your voice and praise the Lord. There will be singing in your house again. And now, you will oversee the land like Joseph. You are out of the prison. You will show God's people how to store up grain and resources for the famine ahead. You will be a storehouse of natural provisions and you will remind the people of the past.

Once again the prosperity message will be alive. But, there will be a maturity about the message and the messengers. There will not be so much of the covetousness and presumption that was seen in the 1970's.

The natural energy resources will fuel the spiritual energy of the church. You will not be giving large amounts of money to famous ministries just to get a "photo opportunity" or to make them like you better. You will walk with integrity and mature wisdom able to discern all the business plans of those ministries. Accountability is coming with the gift and the giver this time. There will be a true advancement of God's kingdom.

It will be beautiful in your eyes and beautiful in the eyes of those who behold it.
