Hello Everyone,
Wow things are happening in the world so fast that it is hard to keep up with all the current events; we seem to accumulate several years’ history in months. Things that normally would take years to happen, take place now in days, weeks and months. |
A scripture that the Lord has been speaking t o me is (2 Pet 3:8 NASB) “But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.” It is easy to let this fact escape you. I believe we are living in an accelerated period of time. So accelerated the world can change in seconds and minutes now. To our shame it take us, or me I’m sure that I’m the only one like this, weeks, months, years and decades to change, if we do at all.
Webster’s dictionary says that to accelerate means to move faster: gain speed b: GROW, INCREASE. I’m not talking about doing more around the house, working more or even becoming more active in the church. That’s part of the problem a misconception that business is effectiveness, some people think that business means anointing. You can be busy in evolved in lots of activity and miss the Lord, just because your to busy.
What I’m talking about is accelerating our response, to obey faster, the instructions and leadings of the Lord. How long does it take to actually obey the Lord? The time between instruction, being to do something, and doing it is vital, critical and can be a life and death issue. We need to accelerate gain speed, shorten the gap between knowing what we should do and actually doing it. And let the momentum of obedience carry us in to growth and increase in Godliness and Christ likeness. The Pharisees and Sadducees spent their whole life looking for the Messiah and missed Him. They were very busy at it, there are still looking today. They couldn’t close the gap between being instruction and doing they were just to busy. They busy learning but never doing, (2 Tim 3:7 NIV) always learning but never able to acknowledge the truth. We acknowledge truth in doing.
The one big bear that will keep you form closing the gap “change” gotta love it.
Let’s do it now!
Philip
“Blessed are the flexible for they shall grow and increase in Godliness and Christ likeness.” (My translation)
